Imagine you are jogging on a hot, sunny morning and after having reached a considerable distance (a quite tentative thinking!), you just glance at your watch to observe just how much distance you have jogged! Well, you don't necessarily have to, because its a thing of the present. However, the new trend is to make random fashion statements with these wearable techs.
The recent hype is over the much-awaited Google glasses, which seem real quirky for all those tech-buzzers who want a Tony Stark-ish experience in controlling their devices. However, even Google is looking to make it more fashionable, by introducing newer models for prescription lens users. Moreover, these glasses are really quenching the thirst for all those mad about making a fashion statement.
More companies are emerging, with the sole intention of creating these fancy wearable techs, that would make using our technical gadgets with much needed ease. Companies like FitBit, Jawbone and even the sports company Nike is showing stable growth in terms of production and marketing of these wearable techs.
Watches still seem to be the driving force behind every wearable tech production. Because, if one can infer anything, it is that it is very comfortable (or even cool!), for people to wear a watch, that can serve as a common interface for every smart device that they own. With iWatch Apple is taking the lead in as well.
Basically, one thing that should be kept in mind is that, even though these complications in design may add to the commercial value of the product, it is the essence, the use that the product provides that counts. In this aspect, the Allen Band could be considered a good example, which is still in the process of prototyping. But, the idea that has been conceived is very good in its purpose.
Once designed, this Allen Band can be used to monitor one's body conditions, like heartbeat rates etc. The device also may help us in giving alerts about the body's internal complications, through repeated monitoring. So, obviously, this product is aimed at people in their older ages. Even though the concept of wearable techs has taken off pretty well in today's market, it certainly needs to have some kind of stable structure that we can rely on without any uncertainty in our minds, making it very useful in the not-so-distant future.
